Reforestation is the natural or intentional restocking of existing forests and woodlands (forestation) that have been depleted, usually through deforestation.[1] Reforestation can be used to rectify or improve the quality of human life by soaking up pollution and dust from the air, rebuild natural habitats and ecosystems, mitigate global warming since forests facilitate biosequestration of atmospheric carbon dioxide,[2] and harvest for resources, particularly timber, but also non-timber forest products.
FCDS Believes the existing efforts in restoring green on earth are not adequate and the progress is far behind in covering the man made damage on the earth. So we reach out to all individuals, organizations, Govt & Like minded supporters to achieve the goal of complete restoration of green on earth.
The Mytree campaign basically focusing in the rural areas. Where we are either forming youth clubs or strengthening existing village Development committees who can further be part of MyTree interventions.
- We create thorough awareness on environmental aspects in the villages
- We create accountability among the villagers for their village environment/Eco system
- We do the mapping of the village; the village in present condition and 20 years ago.
- The villagers will further analyze the situation, root causes for the lapses, and prepares action plans
- The villagers will take the pledge to bring back the good environment which they had 20 years ago. Which includes planting adequate number of trees, stopping deforestation, maintaining a balanced ecosystem.
- Plans in to action and the progress will be reviewed in the monthly meetings of SHGs/Youth clubs/VDCs.
FCDS believes if the restoration of green is done adequately, If the ecosystem is balanced, the earth is going to be same healthy for our future generations as it was for us. This is passible only when every human contributes towards the cause. So Let’s make it..!!
